| ::Pewter City:: Pewter City is a city located in northwest Kanto. The locale lies between Viridian Forest and Mt. Moon. It is a medium sized quiet city with asphalt streets. A famous museum is located in the northwestern part of Pewter City and is one of the city's main attractions. The main building is open to the public and features several historical artifacts, including Aerodactyl and Kabutops Fossils, and a model of a space shuttle. The Pewter Gym is the official Gym of Pewter City. It is based on Rock-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader is Brock. Trainers that defeat him receive the Boulder Badge. ::Route 2:: Route 2 is a north-south route located in west Kanto. The northern terminus of the route is at Pewter City and its southern end is at Viridian City. The western side path leads to Viridian Forest, while eastern path is a common road with hardly any pokemon. ::Route 3:: Route 3 is a rugged mountain road located in northwest Kanto. Its western terminus is at Pewter City and its eastern terminus is at the western foot of Mt. Moon. A lot of common pokemon live in this route, including some ground-, and poison-type. ::Mt. Moon:: Mt. Moon is a mountain located in northern Kanto, between Pewter City in the west and Cerulean City in the east. Climbing does not seem to be possible; to get past it, travelers always need to travel through the caves. The cave is home for ridiculous amount of Zubats, and ground-type pokemon, which makes traveling trough them impossible without a strong pokemon since they tend to be aggressive. Mt. Moon is known for being one of the few places that wild Clefairy can be found and for its frequent meteor falls. The shards of meteorites that fall here become Moon Stones, thus giving it the name Mt. Moon. The mountain is also known for being home to Pokémon Fossils.
